Germany dumping migrants in Poland – border guards

Posted by: John Phoenix Warsaw has accused Berlin of “arbitrarily” violating asylum rules ©  Stefan Sauer/Getty Images The Polish Border Guard has demanded that its German counterpart explain why a family of migrants was dropped off on Polish soil last week. According to reports in the Polish media, thousands of migrants have been sent from Germany to Poland in similar circumstances. A German police car dropped two adult Afghan migrants and three children near the town of Osinow Dolny near the German border last Friday, the chojna24 news site reported. Polish police failed to find the migrant family when they searched the area, news outlet Dziennik reported on Monday. “The German Police’s bringing and leaving foreigners in Poland was in violation of the princi...

The Nakba and the Polish Law

By: GILAD ATZMON  Israel seems upset by a new Polish law that sets a 30-year deadline for Jews to recover seized property. The legislation is yet to be approved by Poland’s senate, yet Israeli officials already refer to it as the “Holocaust law.” They insist that it is ‘immoral’ and ‘a disgrace.’ Last week Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Yair Lapid insisted that the bill “is a disgrace that will not erase the horrors or the memory of the Holocaust.” I fail to see which part of the legislation interferes with the memory and the horrors of the holocaust. I actually think that the crude attempt to squeeze billions of dollars from Poland in the name of a human tragedy may have a detrimental impact on this historical chapter and the way it is memorized. The Poles didn’...

Poland Announces End to Military Aid for the Ukraine!

ANDREW ANGLIN  Previously: Poles Officially Experiencing “Ukie Fatigue” This is a massive story that is somehow not being considered important by New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, or any of the others. This should be the top headline. Poland has been the single biggest ally of the Ukraine, and somehow, these Ukies managed to piss them off so bad that they’re dipping out. The Guardian: Poland, one of Ukraine’s staunchest allies, has announced an end to its arms transfers to the country, a day after President Volodymyr Zelenskiy accused Warsaw of playing into Russia’s hands by banning Ukrainian grain imports. Poland is one of Kyiv’s main weapons suppliers and has been one of the loudest cheerleaders for the Ukrainian cause since the full-scale inv...

Ukrainian lives cheaper than American

Andrzej Duda has claimed Russia must be stopped before the lives of US soldiers are sacrificed Polish President Andrzej Duda © Getty Images / Sean Gallup Polish President Andrzej Duda has accused his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin of seeking to conquer Europe and has insisted that Russia must be stopped in Ukraine where it is “cheap” to do so. In an interview with the Washington Post published on Thursday, the Polish leader was asked to respond to American conservatives who oppose sending additional military and financial aid to Ukraine. “It is very simple,” Duda said. “Right now, Russian imperialism can be stopped cheaply, because American soldiers are not dying.” Unless “Russian aggression” is halted now, “there ...

Legionnaires’ disease has killed seven in a city that is key to supplying Kiev with weapons File photo: The 1978 microscope image of Legionella pneumophila bacteria, which causes Legionnaires disease ©  Francis Chandler/CDC via AP Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) is investigating whether an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in the south eastern city of Rzeszow, adjacent to the country's border with Ukraine, may have been an act of “sabotage,” a spokesman said on Friday. “We also see that Russia is trying to spread some panic on this occasion and is watching what is happening. This is also a factor that makes us rule out certain scenarios,” Stanislaw Zaryn, a spokesman for the security services in Warsaw, told Polish media. There have be...

Poland brands Belarus a ‘hostile’ state

The call to mend ties between two nations, voiced by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, met a mixed reaction in Warsaw FILE PHOTO. Border line marking poles are seen at a closed Polish-Belarus border crossing. ©  AFP / Wojtek Radwanski Belarus must fulfill a list of Poland’s demands to mend relations with the country, Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski said on Saturday. The remarks came in response to a call for improving ties between the two nations, voiced by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Jablonski expressed skepticism over Lukashenko’s statements, suggesting the call made by the Belarusian leader was actually nothing but "empty talk." "At the moment, as we are speaking, attacks on the Polish border are underway. This ...

Poland to Deploy 10,000 Additional Troops to Belarus Border

The Poland-Belarus border has become a potential flashpoint for a conflict between Russia and NATOby Dave DeCamp Posted onAugust 10, 2023CategoriesNewsTagsPoland Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said Thursday that Warsaw plans to deploy 10,000 troops to its border with Belarus as part of a buildup that began after Wagner fighters traveled to Belarus. “About 10,000 soldiers will be on the border, of which 4,000 will directly support the Border Guard and 6,000 will be in the reserve,” Blaszczak said. “We move the army closer to the border with Belarus to scare away the aggressor so that it does not dare to attack us.” His comments came a day after another Polish official said Warsaw was planning to send 2,000 troops to the border. Polish official...

Ukraine, NATO, and the Polish Problem

by Ted Snider  Poland has been one of the most assertive proponents of Ukraine’s entry into NATO and of NATO’s escalating involvement in the war, from providing tanks to providing fighter jets. As Ukraine’s chances of rapid entry into NATO have faded and their chances of victory in the war are falling apart, there has been talk of the threat that Poland could intervene more directly to bring Ukraine into NATO or NATO into Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko recently very publicly discussed the threat they perceive of Poland occupying Western Ukraine and the threat posed by Polish troops massing on the Belarusian border. Several analysts have also suggested that there have been discussions on Poland uniting with Western Ukrai...

JAKE JOHNSON An estimated 500,000 people took to the streets of the capital Warsaw and other Polish cities on Sunday to protest the nation's far-right government, which has assailed reproductive freedoms, attacked the rights of LGBTQ+ people, and cracked down on critical civil society groups and media outlets. Sunday's march against the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party—which has held power since 2015—was called by former Polish prime minister Donald Tusk, who is leading the...
